Hello Hello, I have finally come out of the cave, and have decided to kick some knowledge to the public. Here is the scoop for today. Why the hell do people go to one site for their web design, and another site for their SEO, and Internet Marketing? It really makes no sense at all. The worst part about all of this is that most “Design” companies are beginning to consider themselves SEO gurus as well. For the most part they use a CMS like Joomla, WordPress, Drupal, or something remotely similar, find a half way decent template, sort some things around, and call it a day. Next they read a few great SEO posts, and put a spammy title, footer links out the floor, and have no interest at all in actually building some real back-links.

We consider ourselves pretty good at this SEO / SEM thing, and to be honest with you design is only going to be one part of actually selling your products and services. I do not recall the last time that I bought something from a website because they had a really cool design, or I liked their slide-show, so I bought their shoes.
What I do recall is the last time I was looking for clothing online I came across a site like Zappos.com saw what they wanted to sell me, and I bought it. To be honest I have no idea what the site even looks like, and I was most likely there yesterday!
The one thing they did do!? They marketed their site properly. This was the way that I found them, and this was the way that I eventually purchased from them. For the very small percentage of you out there that are looking for 100% design and could care less about making a buck (why are you here), please ignore everything that I am stating, and enjoy your new hobby, that will never pay you a dime.
The fact of the matter is that over the years, and especially over the past few years, acceptable web design has become very easy to come by. With all of the competition out there it is time to focus on what is important. When in doubt go with the SEO company to handle all of your web design needs and not vise versa.

When you pitch someone on an idea like this, this is what you end up saying…
“I am looking to partner up with someone. I need somebody that can write all the content for my site, do the web design, and market it heavily. I have no budget at the moment however, when we start turning a monster profit I will most likely pay you. You trust me right!?” or “You have no bills and are willing to work 100% on my pipe dreams right?.”
I can see myself taking one of these jobs if it really seemed like an interesting idea. The problem is there are already MILLIONS of other sites out there that are targeting:
- Criminal Background Checks
- Timeshares
- Real Estate
- Franchise Opportunities
- Bachelor Parties in Las Vegas? (Yes, this was the latest, “I will get rich tomorrow” offer…I feel so bad that I refused!)
So if you have a plan on writing us a long email, calling us and talking for 2 hours, or even better sending us a NDA (non-disclosure agreement) you can most likely save it.
Would it make any sense for us, as a company to come on board, do 100% of the work FOR FREE, and then hope to eventually share the profit one day?
No.
If however you see the value that we will bring to the table for you and your business, and want to move forward, we are hear to speak with you. We are all in the business to make a living. We just need to be fair, and understand that when it comes to doing work 100% for free, why are you even asking? Anyone that you get to do that job will not do it correctly if at all. It is a tough economy (for some) and we understand that. Please do not expect us to be the financial crutch for the time being. It is “redonkulous”. Yes I said it.
