We have created a little chart of sorts for use on whatever project you want. I was originally going to put this on Userbility but then I figured it would suit this audience a little better. Below you will find a 1000×800 JPEG of the differences between subdomains and subdirectories. There is a definition, example and the pros and cons of each one.
