seo-basic-greenhorn-noviceThe range of possibilities when it comes to Search Engine Optimization may be mind boggling to Website Owners and Bloggers who are just beginning to get a grasp on how SEO works. There is so much information present today on the Internet that tells us conflicting stories about how to best optimize our websites, some say do this, some say buy this and newcomers are always left feeling confused. I’ve come up with two main points that are key to keeping a well maintained Search Engine Optimized Site;

Quality Content

1) Make sure you use unique quality content that your visitors will actually want to see. When you provide your visitors with something they enjoy they’ll say on your site for a longer period of time and they are more prone to either generate revenue for you, if your website is geared that way. Another important quality about unique content deals with the Search Engines. Search Engines, Google in particular, hate duplicate content and they won’t credit or rank any website or webpage that is just copied from another site. A byproduct of quality content brings us to the next point: inbound links

Links

2) If a visitor likes what your website has to offer and are genuinely interested you have a good chance at getting them to provide a link from their site to yours. In Search Engine Optimization it’s the general understanding that the more links you have pointing at your site, the higher it will be displayed in the results. It’s also understood that your rankings will be increased even further if the text of that link is for a keyword phrase that your relates directly to the content of the site. If you follow these two very basic teachings you will quickly be on your way to becoming more knowledgeable about Search Engine Optimization and be able to know exactly how to get your site the rankings they deserve.
