Recently I was reading an article at eMarketer.com, you can find it here. A good position in natural search results is critical to a brand’s strategy on the Web—and that means appearing on page one. Without top rankings, basically, without top 3 rankings you are not going to amount to much. Making it onto the first page of results from Google, Yahoo! or Bing (formerly Live) has always been a major goal, with online marketers aware that consumers will give up after relatively few hits. Data from iCrossing analyzing natural-search referrals shows that only a tiny number come from results after the first page. It still pays to be #1. In fact, if you aren’t ranking in the top 3, contact us right now for a free quote. We’ll help you get there.
Ranking First Page is Required, Ranking First give you the Edge
Below you will find one of the graphs that eMarketer created, you can find it in the article linked above. Look at the stats!

That’s incredible- 95.8% of the traffic comes from the first page. These stats are pretty consistent to what I believe to be true (from other industry data).
…across the big three search engines, with at least 95% of traffic from each originating from the first page of results after a non-branded search. Less than 2% of search-referred traffic came from clickers persistent enough to look for results after the second page.
My advice to all of you who aren’t ranking first page. Contact us right now. It’s FREE $0 for a consultation, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. If you absolutely don’t want to talk to us, at least check out our small business internet marketing checklist.
Google is the big swinging -?- on campus
Google is doing even better than reported by researchers such as comScore, which found that 65.7% of US search queries in December 2009 were conducted on Google.
Obviously we all know who has the major market share in the search game, Google. If only they could leak some data like AOL. Look at the market share:
